I am a Genealogist and Probate Researcher in the team. I work with people from all over the world who share a common desire that I can personally relate to – that is, to feel the sense of connection that comes from knowing who we are and where we come from, and maybe even being able to walk in the footsteps of our ancestors. I am very dedicated to helping make that happen.
I am from Northern Ireland, so I particularly enjoy getting the opportunity to work with people who have ancestral roots in the Ulster counties.
Genealogy began as a hobby for me. Professionally, I qualified as a solicitor and worked for 20+ years as an employment law and human resources specialist. I later obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde, and then made a complete career change to focus on genealogy as more than just a dedicated pastime.
An unanticipated consequence of my new career is that I spend much more time in old cemeteries than I ever imagined I would, which can inspire some interesting conversations!
