The IFHC’s own Fiona Fitzsimons has been re-elected to the APG Board this month, for her third consecutive term.
In September, she received a certificate of appreciation for her advocacy to grow and strengthen the APG in Ireland. Fiona’s core interests are in outreach and education, and she has been busy organising events and initiatives for the APG that reflect these themes.
This October, the APG met in Limerick – the second meeting this year, outside of Dublin.
And just this week, Thursday November 9th, Fiona moderated an online panel discussion with Lorna Moloney (Clans and Surnames) & Chris Paton (The Genes Blog).
The talk ‘Standing out from the Crowd’ was the first online panel discussion held as part of a new Continuous Professional Development initiative run by the APG Brit ain, Ireland and the Isles Chapter.
The discussion proved insightful and engaging and will be available online shortly.
A big congratulations to Fiona and best of luck for the coming term!
