The 2018-19 course in Irish Family & Social History finished in Trinity College this week.
It’s been a really busy year, preparing lectures for two years is more than double the work, but the enthusiasm of the students carried me through. Being back in the classroom provides real activity and challenge. The students, coming to the subject for the first time, encourage me to think about the subject with fresh eyes.
To mark the end of year, we arranged to visit the Manuscripts Department in the National Library of Ireland. The first visit took place this morning and we’ve scheduled other groups in the following weeks.
A huge thanks to Alicia, Ite, Michael, Siobhan, Sally, Marie, Bob, Louis, Fergus, June, Maurice & Joseph for your continued enthusiasm throughout the year.
Thanks to Nora Moroney of the NLI for being our guide today.
The Course in Irish Family & Social History will be back in the academic year 2019-20.
Booking from August.
